The Amazing Race Cainta Marriage Licensing leg

Shared this post on the W@W forum 2 days ago... read on. :)

Hi All!

Maybe some of you already read this post on my fb wall, but just wanna share our
experience in applying for a marriage license in Cainta.

Every Wednesday ang family planning seminar doon, from 8am-12nn. Peejay and I
were very early, as in pagka-out namin ng 7am (yes, galing kaming night shift)
pumunta na kami agad doon. We arrived at 7:45am and headed straight to People's
Center. May event doon for the kids so we asked saan yung seminar. Sabi sa
information desk, punta daw sa MSWD tabi ng People's center to register. This is
important kase sila magpproduce ng 2 certificates after the seminar which you
will need to apply for a license - 1 MSWD cert for family seminar 1 Health cert
for contraceptives lecture. Sabi sa MSWD, the seminar will be held sa Health
Center kase may event nga sa People's Center. We headed to the Health Center and
were told na sa People's Center nalang kase patapos na event at hindi ma
accommodate yung madaming couples. So bumalik ka mi sa People's Center. We
officially started the seminar at 9am. Talk about Filipino time talaga. The
speaker was not that entertaining
and he put couples on the spot --- couples na naglilive-in at may mga anak na.
Nahiya ako for them. Anyway, he talked for 1 hour and 30 mins about needs,
problems and tips in handling a family. After that, the health speaker took
over. Sabi nya substitute lang daw sya at di sya talaga speaker doon. Wag daw
kami mag-alala at mabilis lang daw yung ddiscuss nya and she did it in 30 mins
lang. She mainly talked about diff types of contraceptives. I like her for being
brief and concise.

After 2 hours, tapos na seminar. In fairness, mabilis sila. 11am nagddistribute
na sila ng certificates. We ran to the civil registrar's office and submitted
our forms. Yun pala, gusto nila lahat naphotocopy, yung 2 certificates from the
seminar and even yung cedula! at! kailangan pala pati ako magssubmit ng cedula
kahit di ako resident. So nagpaphotocopy kami at kumuha ng cedula at tumakbo
ulit papunta civil registrar's office. We filled out 2 copies of marriage
license form. Take note pala sa paglagay ng age nyo, dapat specific. E.g. May 15
bday ko, dapat ilalagay ko 27yrs and 11 months. So they gave us a stub to pay
the P350 marriage license fee at pumunta daw sa Payment office. 11:50am na that
time at sabi bilisan daw dahil once marinig ang sirena e magsasara na sila.
Pagdating doon sinarado na yung counter and buti naawa naman si ate at binuksan
ulit for us para makabayad. Tinakbo namin yung receipt pabalik ng civil
registar's office 5 mins before
lunch time na yun. Habang tumatakbo natatawa ako sa sarili ko sabi ko kay
peejay, bilis!!! baka mag-sirena naaaaa!! while running yan ha. amazing race
talaga! mga wala pa kaming tulog nun ha! pero grabe adrenaline rush ko dahil
ayaw na namin bumalik after lunch baka mahimatay na kami sa pagod. Anyway,
successful naman! They accepted the receipt, gave us a stub and told us to go
back after 10 business days.

Pagdating namin sa Shangrila Mall kumain kami sa Pepper lunch, sobrang bilis
kumain dahil super gutom na. So, if you are going to attend the seminar, bring
bottled water, cookies, wet wipes, hanky and candies! :)
